Kennesaw State University’s College of Continuing and Professional Education will host a free career training expo at the KSU Center on Thursday, July 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The event will highlight more than 50 professional certificate programs offered by KSU.
“Our mission is to educate and empower people with the ultimate goal of personal growth,” says Barbara Calhoun, dean of the College of Continuing and Professional Education. “We are proud to produce and host events like these to assist those desiring to re-enter the workforce, change careers or advance in their current position.”
Highlighted programs at the expo include those on basic office technology, culinary apprenticeship, information systems security, medical assisting, languages, web design, social media marketing, real estate property management, paralegal, administrative professional and more.
Attendees will be able to meet instructors and recent graduates at the information sessions, and a main session will provide further details about the various programs KSU offers. Program representatives will be available to answer any questions event guests may have.
In addition to information on various continuing education programs, career coach John Long will lead sessions on interviewing and personal branding. All attendees will receive a 5 percent discount coupon valid through Sept. 3, and a student gift pack will be given for on-site course enrollments.
Financial aid advisors will be in attendance to provide information on payment plans, VA education benefits, the Workforce Investment Act and more. Scholarships are available for select programs. Registration for the expo is encouraged and can be completed online at ksuexpo.com or by calling 770-423-6765.
