Things are warming up in Georgia this summer and what better way to cool off than taking a ride down the Chattahoochee River. Shoot the Hooch offers canoes, rafts, kayaks, tubes and stand-up paddle boards for adventurers of all sizes with two convenient Cobb locations.
Shoot the Hooch at Azalea Park is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Although its headquarters in is Roswell, you can put in at any of the six locations around metro Atlanta.
You and your family and friends can canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard on an hourly basis. If you want to take a short trip down the river, you can raft, canoe, kayak, stand-up paddleboard or tube from Don White Memorial Park (a 1.5 mile trip). If you want a longer trip, you can put in at Island Ford and paddle downriver 3 miles. If you’re feeling really adventurous and want an all-day trek, try an 8 mile trip from Garrard Landing in a canoe or kayak. For all of these trips, you can also be shuttled from Azalea Park to the put-in location of your choosing and you can paddle or float back to Azalea Park.
