Michael Grigsby, 42, joins an exclusive group of only nine climbers who have completed the amazing feat.
About 3,500 people have successfully climbed Mount Everest, known as the world’s tallest mountain, with a peak at 29,029 feet about sea level. Only 300 climbers have made the 27, 605 feet to the top of Lhotse, which is connected to Everest but considered much more dangerous than its taller counterpart.
Grigsby owns Marietta-based North American Container Corp. and is married with two daughters.
The Walton High School graduate began the climb with 12 people, but two had to be evacuated for medical reasons.
Training for the climb took about two and a half years, and Grigsby says he plans to keep trekking more mountains in the future.
