Cobb County continues to be a hotspot for companies looking to relocate and expand their business in Georgia. Since March when Infosys announced they’d be bringing 200 jobs to Cobb, the Atlanta Business Chronicle has announced that Alpharetta buildings are being scouted for a big corporate relocation.
The new ownership of Alpharetta’s Cobalt Center office buildings is competing for a company that would relocate its nearly 400,000-square-foot operations to metro Atlanta.
The unidentified company has shown interest in taking basically all of the 376,351-square-foot Cobalt Center office development on Windward Parkway, said David Harvey, a senior executive with M & J Wilkow, a Chicago real estate investment firm. M & J Wilkow recently bought both mid-rise office buildings that make up Cobalt Center, formerly home to the operations of Cingular Wireless.
Georgia is competing for the corporate relocation with Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina and Texas, Harvey said. The office requirement is large enough to bring potentially hundreds of jobs.
