City of Smyrna Memorial Day Ceremony

Join the city of Smyrna to honor and appreciate those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Seating will start at 8:30 a.m. and activities will begin at 9:30 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Smyrna Community Center (200 Village Green Circle). Marietta National Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 27, 2013 at noon
The Marietta National Cemetery is a canonized ground where more than 10,000 veterans are buried. For more than half a century, a ceremony has occurred every Memorial Day at the cemetery to honor those who gave their lives for our freedom. On Saturday, May 25 at 8 a.m., the Boy Scouts of America, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts of America and Brownies will place flags on each grave. On Monday, join veterans and the general public for patriotic music, posting of the colors, prayers, a gun salute and inspiring speakers. Visit the event website for more information.
